Bohemian Borders

Hi,

Here’s a card I made today as part of a challenge I set for my team.We had to use a particular lay out and colours. Everyone comes up with something completely different. Love it.

I used some new products again, these will be available on June 2 as well as existing product. The stamp set on the front panel is from the new Bohemian Borders set (you’ll be able to see it soon, or contact me if you’d like a catalogue now). I also used the new Boho Chic Embossing Folder.

Bohemian Borders stamps set and Boho Chic Embossing Folder. Colours are Blackberry Bliss, Rich Razzleberry, Bermuda Bay and a new one Delightful Dijon

The colours I have chosen are Blackberry Bliss, Rich Razzleberry, Bermuda Bay and a new In Colour (available Jun 2) Delightful Dijon.

I spritzed some watercolour paper with water, then using an Aqua Painter, added a stripe of each colour blending where they joined. I then cut it into strips and added to the card. I had intended embossing each strip in the same direction as the stamped image on the front, but completely forgot, so debossed the whole thing instead. (Debossing is havng the raised part to the back of the work and indented side to the front).

The stamp I have used from Bohemian Borders is an individual stamp, stamped mutiple times.  It is a beautiful set. I love the whole range, we will, have not only the embossing folder and stamps but also Washi Tape and Designer series paper in these colours.

Don’t miss out on the retiring products!

You have only a few days to purchase them, June 2 is the last day before it is gone forever.

Inlaid Floating Butterfly

Hi,

Today I played around with some new products that will be available on June 2, when the new Catalogue goes live globally.

I saw a video by Catherine Pooler and I just had to try her Inlaid floating die technique.

Here’s my effort. Not a great pic due to the night light but it was fun anyway. I have used the new In Colours and Lace…love ’em.

I’m have been off the air for a while. Big storms here took out the power for 4 days, brought down a huge tree and killed my computer.  These pics were taken standing in the middle of the fallen tree. The damaged shed is two houses away from ours. Fortunately it fell on the wetland at the back of the properties and not onto any houses. We have a lot of wood to cut…we just added to the woodpile, and have a huge hole to fill. The tree house on the next tree survived, the roots of the fallen tree just missed lifting it as well.

Moon Lake – On Film

Hello again,

I’ve been absent from the internet while enjoying a fabulous holiday! I’m a bit behind in my Blogging, but hey….it was worth it!

It was an impromptu trip and a highlight was to snorkel the Tangalooma wrecks on Moreton Island QLD. Wow! Loved it.

How’s this for gorgeous?

I’m back to my Stampin’ world now and I love that too, so I’m on a winner.

At a recent workshop, I was asked by my hostess to teach masculine and feminine cards, so we mixed it up a bit and did a few different card designs.

Here’s one of the Masculine cards, though I reckon a lady would like it too. It’s using a stamp set from the Occasions Catalogue called Moon Lake.

Moon Lake - On Film

Moon Lake – On Film       Using Moon Lake stamp set and On Film Framelits

Moon Lake stamp set is a new favourite, especially as it can mix beautifully with another favourite, the Wetlands set, in fact the inside is stamped with a Wetlands stamp. It comes in both Wood Mount and Clear Mount. I also found the On Film Framelit was perfect for this one.

• The Whisper White background was masked using a straight strip of scrap paper

• The sky was sponged using Soft Sky Classic Ink

• Then I stamped the image from Moon Lake using Memento Ink

• I reversed the mask to cover the sky

•Then I sponged around the island in Costal Cabana Classic Ink

Lost Lagoon Classic Ink was used to sponge the darker areas of water

• Stampin’ Up! Chalk marker used for the ripples

• Boat coloured with Soft Suede Stampin Write marker

• Tree: Wild Wasabi Stampin’ Write marker for leaves and Smoky slate Stampin’ Write marker for trunk

•Grass was done with an Old Olive Stampin’ Write marker

• The black frame was cut using the On Film Framelets Die

• Thick Bakers twine in Baked Brown Sugar

Candy Dots were used instead of full brads

•The card body is in Basic Gray .

Timeless Talk

Hi,

Back again with something  a little bit Vintage.

I love all things vintage (maybe it’s says a lot about my age) and the Timeless Talk stamp set from Stampin’ Up! is right up there with stamp sets I love.

Timless Talk

Timeless Talk

Here’s a card I did for our Sydney Party Time event (for Demonstrators) in January 2015.

Vintage Hello card uses Timeless Talk, Hello You Thinlits, Venetian Crochet Trim, Stitched Satin Ribbon.

Vintage Hello card uses Timeless Talk, Hello You Thinlits, Venetian Crochet Trim, Stitched Satin Ribbon.

This one is a large card with a full A4 sheet to give an A5 sized front (14.8cm x 21cm). The main colour card is Soft Suede.

Simply Scored

Simply Scored

I created the framed look by using the Simply Scored board and double scoring the frame on the inside of the card after marking it out in pencil. I marked the inside so that the raised lines would be on the front of the card.

Dictionary background stamp

The stamped background was a separate piece of cardstock cut few mm smaller than the frame I scored on the card front.  It was then stamped with the background stamp”Dictionary” in Soft Suede ink.

It was also stamped with the flourish from Everything Eleanor.

I layered up scallop circles and circles that had been stamped in Soft Suede and Mossy Meadow inks. I’ve used anything I think looked good here, raid your collection.

The Scraps of torn card and flowers are in Rich Razzleberry.

Itty Bitty Accent punches

The flowers were punched with flower from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.

and the bow is Stitched Satin Ribbon – colour – Mossy Meadow.

The main image was stamped in Soft Suede using the Timeless Talk phone. It was then cut out with a die from the Lables Collection of framelits and the edges sponged in Soft Suede ink.

The Hello is a wonderful new die from our Occasions Catalogue. It’s called Hello You Thinlits and it comes with for different dies and an opportunity to bundle it with the Crazy About You stamp set and save $$. I cut it twice, once in Mossy Meadow and once in Very Vanilla. The Very Vanilla had the edges sponged in Soft Suede. I glued this down with VERY SMALL dots of Tombow Multipurpose Adhesive.

The technique is just to scrunch and squish, age as much as you can and stick down.

I hope you have a play with this idea, it can become anything you want it to be.

If you’d like to order any products, just go to my online store and your order will be delivered to your door anywhere in Australia.

Orders of $90 in product earn a free Saleabration gift which you can choose from the Saleabration catalogue on the right side of my page. (All catalogues are on the right side).        So if you order $180 you get two gifts and so on.

Also if your wish list is long, and your total reaches $300 you will receive hostess benefits and get more $ to spend on anything you like as well as your saleabration freebies.

Have a really big wish list? Why not join my team and get discounts PLUS so much more! Even if you don’t want to sell I welcome those that purely want a discount.

Bokeh Technique – Lotus Blossom

Hi, just a quick share again.

I’m having fun with this Free Sale a Bration Lotus Blossom Stamp

I’ve played in the last card with flicking water on the background, this time I wanted to use a technique called Bokeh, it’s kinda like the blurred background of a photo with circles of light. I used it recently on a card, in fact here it is so you know what I’m on about.

Bokeh technique. Using Butterflies Thinlit dies from page 26 of the Current Occasions catalogue

Bokeh technique. Using Butterflies Thinlit dies from page 26 of the Current Occasions catalogue

I sponged the background in different colours and then using a sheet of acetate with different sized circles cut in it, I masked the background and applied whisper white craft ink using a dauber. You just keep going until you are happy, a messy but fun thing to do.  By the way how cute is that Butterfly die?  Love it!

Now here’s the Bokeh/water splashed card using the Lotus Blossom Stamp that you can get FREE from the Sale a Bration catalogue with any $90 order of product in Australia. This is the first one I did.

Bokeh Lotus Blossom

Free Sale a Bration Lotus Blossom stamp set ( you can get yours with any order of $90 product in Australia, see my store at the end of the post)

Now here’s the last one I did

Lotus Blossom meets Bokeh

Lotus Blossom meets Bokeh

I had a few disasters on the way to getting this one done, too much water had one card with runs down it. Bummer. Never mind, all part of the fun. I first stamped the Lotus Blossom, it’s a 3 step stamp set, so step one was full strength colour, step 2 was the same colour stamped onto scrap before stamping down on top and step 3 was with Versa mark which I then clear heat embossed.

Then I sponged several colours on the background, and began the white circles through the acetate mask, just kept going till I was happy.

It may get a bit too wet, so either go make a coffee, scroll through a catalogue or my store or use a heat tool to speed things up.

Then the flick of water over the top, dry it off and add the sentiment. Mount it and you are done.

Hope you have a go at this.

If you’d like to see the catalogues they are on the right side of my page, just click and you are there.  If you’d like help with anything please leave your details here or on my website www.dawnfergie.stampinup.net  If you’d like to order you can do so online just click the button and you are on your way. Orders will be delivered to your door anywhere in Australia.  Don’t forget that every $90 in product ordered earns you a free Sale a Bration product while this promotion is on.

Now about that shop…

Have fun.

Oh …. forgot, some of my team are doing a card challenge with the Lotus Blossom stamp set, it is based on a card by Janine Tinkenberg, who did a great job on her card.  Here’s my take on it.

Lotus Blossom FREE Stamp Set

Hi,

I’ve been trying my hand at the beautiful Lotus Blossom Stamp set.

This is one of the stamps sets you can get FREE by placing an order for product to the value of  $90. In fact for every $90 you spend (Australia) you get to choose another great Sale a Bration product and there are many products to choose from in the SAB catalogue.

Anyway,I had a play and I love it.

Lotus Blossom. You can choose this stamp set FREE when you order $90 in product in Australia. You'll find it in the Sale a Bration Catalogue in the side bar.

Lotus Blossom. You can choose this stamp set FREE when you order $90 in product in Australia. You’ll find it in the Sale a Bration Catalogue in the side bar.

This one is a 3 step stamp made so easy because of little tabs to help you position it.  I’ve just sponged the background and splashed it with water from my Aqua Marker.

The colours I’ve used on the Lotus Blossom are Wisteria Wonder for step one, Strawberry Slush for step two, for e 3rd step I’ve stamped in Versa mark and Clear embossed them.

Background is sponged in Pool Party ink then a Coastal Cabana Ink.

Then before I stamped the sentiment, I flicked water over the background using my Aqua Painter.

You can find the Sale a Bration catalogue in the side bar or on my website.

Orders can be placed online and delivered to your door anywhere in Australia or of course I’d be happy to help if you leave me your contact details below or on my website.
