From Land to Sea – Turtle Card

From Land to Sea

One of my favourite Stampin’ Up! stamp sets!

However, I hadn’t had a play with it until recently, I’ve had the idea in my head ever since snorkelling off Cape Tribulation earlier in the year when I was lucky enough to snorkel with turtles.

So without further chatter, here it is.

Jacks card front

From Land to Sea stamp set Background stamp is Hardwood

The turtles were coloured using Stampin’ Up! inks and Aqua Painters. Stampin’ Up! Circle framelit dies were used to cut circles and tag. There is window sheet in the porthole which does not show so well in the photo.

Inspiration for the porthole was from a beautiful card by Melissa Cochran.

Jacks card inner

A photograph was used for the background on the inside of the card too.

Wonderland – Aussie Christmas

Hello again.

Finally got into my craft room for a good play today.   So much going on … semi retirement sure is busy.

I used a stamp set from the Holiday Catalogue called Wonderland for these two cards.  They are so easy to make, it is a wonderful set and I can see I will use it again and again, not just for Christmas.

Here’s the first one in Black, White and Silver

Silent NightI love the new silver thread found in the holiday catalogue too.  That and a bit of silver embossing made it pop.

Then I got to thinking….how about an Aussie Christmas!  So here it is.

Wonderland 2aWith some sponging in Cajun Craze and Always Artichoke, stamped in the new Basic Black ink it worked a treat. Using this technique in this way was inspired by Jacque Williams NZ.

Wonderland

Don’t miss all the wonderful product in the Holiday catalogue. It will end on Jan 4. So grab some gorgeous Christmas product while it lasts.

You can shop online at my store www.dawnfergie.stampinup.net or fill in the contact form to get in touch. Orders will be delivered to your door anywhere in Australia.

Talented Trio – Ballerina Pop Up card

Hello!

We are coming to the end of a long run of birthdays in our family.

Here’s a card I did for one of my 6 year old grandaughters who is into the outdoors and ballet among other things.

I used the new Talented Trio stamp set to make a Ballerina Pop up card for her.

Talented Trio Pop up Ballerina card. Also used Sheltering Tree stamp set.

Talented Trio Pop up Ballerina card. Also used Sheltering Tree stamp set.

Ballerina Pop up card - Using Talented Trio and Sheltering Tree

Ballerina Pop up card – Using Talented Trio and Sheltering Tree

I also used the Sheltering Tree set for the trees and grass.  But I have to say I had fun with Talented Trio. The ballerina is watercoloured using Stampin’ Up! inks and aquapainter after being stamped on watercolour paper, which I found stiffer and so stood up more easily with only small points of contact.

The colours are Watermelon Wonder for the card base, watercolour dress and the gorgeous lace. Trees are Tip Taupe Taupe and Mint Macaron, all of which are new In Colours. I used Pear Pizzaz for the grass. Oh and that grass stamp comes with Sheltering Tree.

One of the many things I love about Stampin’ Up! is the perfect coordination of colours. The lace was folded in half lengthwise and gathered before adding to the tutu.

Needless to say Miss 6 loved it!

If you’d like to check out the products you can do so at my online store at www.dawnfergie.stampinup.net

You can even order online anywhere in Australia and have it delivered directly to your door, couldn’t be simpler.

Hope you check out Talented Trio and Sheltering Tree and the lovely new 2015-2017 In Colours.

Bohemian Borders

Hi,

Here’s a card I made today as part of a challenge I set for my team.We had to use a particular lay out and colours. Everyone comes up with something completely different. Love it.

I used some new products again, these will be available on June 2 as well as existing product. The stamp set on the front panel is from the new Bohemian Borders set (you’ll be able to see it soon, or contact me if you’d like a catalogue now). I also used the new Boho Chic Embossing Folder.

Bohemian Borders stamps set and Boho Chic Embossing Folder. Colours are Blackberry Bliss, Rich Razzleberry, Bermuda Bay and a new one Delightful Dijon

Bohemian Borders stamps set and Boho Chic Embossing Folder. Colours are Blackberry Bliss, Rich Razzleberry, Bermuda Bay and a new one Delightful Dijon

The colours I have chosen are Blackberry Bliss, Rich Razzleberry, Bermuda Bay and a new In Colour (available Jun 2) Delightful Dijon.

I spritzed some watercolour paper with water, then using an Aqua Painter, added a stripe of each colour blending where they joined. I then cut it into strips and added to the card. I had intended embossing each strip in the same direction as the stamped image on the front, but completely forgot, so debossed the whole thing instead. (Debossing is havng the raised part to the back of the work and indented side to the front).

The stamp I have used from Bohemian Borders is an individual stamp, stamped mutiple times.  It is a beautiful set. I love the whole range, we will, have not only the embossing folder and stamps but also Washi Tape and Designer series paper in these colours.

Don’t miss out on the retiring products!

You have only a few days to purchase them, June 2 is the last day before it is gone forever.

If you have been meaning to get that special something or want to bag a bargain, go to my store and check out what’s on offer.

Inlaid Floating Butterfly

Hi,

Today I played around with some new products that will be available on June 2, when the new Catalogue goes live globally.

I saw a video by Catherine Pooler and I just had to try her Inlaid floating die technique.

Here’s my effort. Not a great pic due to the night light but it was fun anyway. I have used the new In Colours and Lace…love ’em.

I’m have been off the air for a while. Big storms here took out the power for 4 days, brought down a huge tree and killed my computer.  These pics were taken standing in the middle of the fallen tree. The damaged shed is two houses away from ours. Fortunately it fell on the wetland at the back of the properties and not onto any houses. We have a lot of wood to cut…we just added to the woodpile, and have a huge hole to fill. The tree house on the next tree survived, the roots of the fallen tree just missed lifting it as well.

Moon Lake – On Film

Hello again,

I’ve been absent from the internet while enjoying a fabulous holiday! I’m a bit behind in my Blogging, but hey….it was worth it!

It was an impromptu trip and a highlight was to snorkel the Tangalooma wrecks on Moreton Island QLD. Wow! Loved it.

How’s this for gorgeous?

I’m back to my Stampin’ world now and I love that too, so I’m on a winner.

At a recent workshop, I was asked by my hostess to teach masculine and feminine cards, so we mixed it up a bit and did a few different card designs.

Here’s one of the Masculine cards, though I reckon a lady would like it too. It’s using a stamp set from the Occasions Catalogue called Moon Lake.

Moon Lake - On Film

Moon Lake – On Film       Using Moon Lake stamp set and On Film Framelits

Moon Lake stamp set is a new favourite, especially as it can mix beautifully with another favourite, the Wetlands set, in fact the inside is stamped with a Wetlands stamp. It comes in both Wood Mount and Clear Mount. I also found the On Film Framelit was perfect for this one.

• The Whisper White background was masked using a straight strip of scrap paper

• The sky was sponged using Soft Sky Classic Ink

• Then I stamped the image from Moon Lake using Memento Ink

• I reversed the mask to cover the sky

•Then I sponged around the island in Costal Cabana Classic Ink

Lost Lagoon Classic Ink was used to sponge the darker areas of water

• Stampin’ Up! Chalk marker used for the ripples

• Boat coloured with Soft Suede Stampin Write marker

• Tree: Wild Wasabi Stampin’ Write marker for leaves and Smoky slate Stampin’ Write marker for trunk

•Grass was done with an Old Olive Stampin’ Write marker

• The black frame was cut using the On Film Framelets Die

• Thick Bakers twine in Baked Brown Sugar

Candy Dots were used instead of full brads

•The card body is in Basic Gray .

Timeless Talk

Hi,

Back again with something  a little bit Vintage.

I love all things vintage (maybe it’s says a lot about my age) and the Timeless Talk stamp set from Stampin’ Up! is right up there with stamp sets I love.

Timless Talk

Timeless Talk

Here’s a card I did for our Sydney Party Time event (for Demonstrators) in January 2015.

Vintage Hello card uses Timeless Talk, Hello You Thinlits, Venetian Crochet Trim, Stitched Satin Ribbon.

Vintage Hello card uses Timeless Talk, Hello You Thinlits, Venetian Crochet Trim, Stitched Satin Ribbon.

This one is a large card with a full A4 sheet to give an A5 sized front (14.8cm x 21cm). The main colour card is Soft Suede.

Simply Scored

Simply Scored

I created the framed look by using the Simply Scored board and double scoring the frame on the inside of the card after marking it out in pencil. I marked the inside so that the raised lines would be on the front of the card.

Dictionary background stamp

Dictionary background stamp

The stamped background was a separate piece of cardstock cut few mm smaller than the frame I scored on the card front.  It was then stamped with the background stamp”Dictionary” in Soft Suede ink.

It was also stamped with the flourish from Everything Eleanor.

I layered up scallop circles and circles that had been stamped in Soft Suede and Mossy Meadow inks. I’ve used anything I think looked good here, raid your collection.

The Scraps of torn card and flowers are in Rich Razzleberry.

Itty Bitty Accent punches

The flowers were punched with flower from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.

and the bow is Stitched Satin Ribbon – colour – Mossy Meadow.

The main image was stamped in Soft Suede using the Timeless Talk phone. It was then cut out with a die from the Lables Collection of framelits and the edges sponged in Soft Suede ink.

Labels Collection Thinlet die

The Hello is a wonderful new die from our Occasions Catalogue. It’s called Hello You Thinlits and it comes with for different dies and an opportunity to bundle it with the Crazy About You stamp set and save $$. I cut it twice, once in Mossy Meadow and once in Very Vanilla. The Very Vanilla had the edges sponged in Soft Suede. I glued this down with VERY SMALL dots of Tombow Multipurpose Adhesive.

The technique is just to scrunch and squish, age as much as you can and stick down.

I hope you have a play with this idea, it can become anything you want it to be.

If you’d like to order any products, just go to my online store and your order will be delivered to your door anywhere in Australia.

Orders of $90 in product earn a free Saleabration gift which you can choose from the Saleabration catalogue on the right side of my page. (All catalogues are on the right side).        So if you order $180 you get two gifts and so on.

Also if your wish list is long, and your total reaches $300 you will receive hostess benefits and get more $ to spend on anything you like as well as your saleabration freebies.

Have a really big wish list? Why not join my team and get discounts PLUS so much more! Even if you don’t want to sell I welcome those that purely want a discount.

Bokeh Technique – Lotus Blossom

Hi, just a quick share again.

I’m having fun with this Free Sale a Bration Lotus Blossom Stamp

I’ve played in the last card with flicking water on the background, this time I wanted to use a technique called Bokeh, it’s kinda like the blurred background of a photo with circles of light. I used it recently on a card, in fact here it is so you know what I’m on about.

Bokeh technique. Using Butterflies Thinlit dies from page 26 of the Current Occasions catalogue

Bokeh technique. Using Butterflies Thinlit dies from page 26 of the Current Occasions catalogue

I sponged the background in different colours and then using a sheet of acetate with different sized circles cut in it, I masked the background and applied whisper white craft ink using a dauber. You just keep going until you are happy, a messy but fun thing to do.  By the way how cute is that Butterfly die?  Love it!

Now here’s the Bokeh/water splashed card using the Lotus Blossom Stamp that you can get FREE from the Sale a Bration catalogue with any $90 order of product in Australia. This is the first one I did.

Bokeh Lotus Blossom

Free Sale a Bration Lotus Blossom stamp set ( you can get yours with any order of $90 product in Australia, see my store at the end of the post)

Now here’s the last one I did

Lotus Blossom meets Bokeh

Lotus Blossom meets Bokeh

I had a few disasters on the way to getting this one done, too much water had one card with runs down it. Bummer. Never mind, all part of the fun. I first stamped the Lotus Blossom, it’s a 3 step stamp set, so step one was full strength colour, step 2 was the same colour stamped onto scrap before stamping down on top and step 3 was with Versa mark which I then clear heat embossed.

Then I sponged several colours on the background, and began the white circles through the acetate mask, just kept going till I was happy.

It may get a bit too wet, so either go make a coffee, scroll through a catalogue or my store or use a heat tool to speed things up.

Then the flick of water over the top, dry it off and add the sentiment. Mount it and you are done.

Hope you have a go at this.

If you’d like to see the catalogues they are on the right side of my page, just click and you are there.  If you’d like help with anything please leave your details here or on my website www.dawnfergie.stampinup.net  If you’d like to order you can do so online just click the button and you are on your way. Orders will be delivered to your door anywhere in Australia.  Don’t forget that every $90 in product ordered earns you a free Sale a Bration product while this promotion is on.

Now about that shop…

Have fun.

Oh …. forgot, some of my team are doing a card challenge with the Lotus Blossom stamp set, it is based on a card by Janine Tinkenberg, who did a great job on her card.  Here’s my take on it.

Lotus Blossom FREE Stamp Set

Hi,

I’ve been trying my hand at the beautiful Lotus Blossom Stamp set.

This is one of the stamps sets you can get FREE by placing an order for product to the value of  $90. In fact for every $90 you spend (Australia) you get to choose another great Sale a Bration product and there are many products to choose from in the SAB catalogue.

Anyway,I had a play and I love it.

Lotus Blossom. You can choose this stamp set FREE when you order $90 in product in Australia. You'll find it in the Sale a Bration Catalogue in the side bar.

Lotus Blossom. You can choose this stamp set FREE when you order $90 in product in Australia. You’ll find it in the Sale a Bration Catalogue in the side bar.

This one is a 3 step stamp made so easy because of little tabs to help you position it.  I’ve just sponged the background and splashed it with water from my Aqua Marker.

The colours I’ve used on the Lotus Blossom are Wisteria Wonder for step one, Strawberry Slush for step two, for e 3rd step I’ve stamped in Versa mark and Clear embossed them.

Background is sponged in Pool Party ink then a Coastal Cabana Ink.

Then before I stamped the sentiment, I flicked water over the background using my Aqua Painter.

You can find the Sale a Bration catalogue in the side bar or on my website.

Orders can be placed online and delivered to your door anywhere in Australia or of course I’d be happy to help if you leave me your contact details below or on my website.

Baby Cards with Little Sunshine and Baby Bumble Bee

 Baby Cards

Little Sunshine and Baby Bumble Bee

Hello,

A quick share with you today, 2 Baby cards which are my version of a card done by our CEO at a recent Leadership event.

I improvised a bit as I didn’t have everything Shelli used, but that’s the beauty of a bunch of coordinating products. You can always switch it around.

These cute little cards were based on two stamp sets from the current Occasions Catalogue: Little Sunshine and Baby Bumblebee.

Baby Cards using Stampin' Up! Little Sunshine and Baby Bumble Bee stamps

Baby Cards using Stampin’ Up! Little Sunshine and Baby Bumble Bee stamps

They were nice and easy to do, here’s a list how I did it and what I used.

1. Cut A4 card stock in half (10.5cm x 14.8cm) and fold for card base. I used Soft Sky for a boy and Pink Pirouette for a girl.

2. Cut a 6.5 x 6.5cm square of Sweet Dreams Designer Series Paper (boy) or a 6.5 x 6.5cm Or for the girl a square of quality photocopy paper of the same size. This should be stamped both sides, one side in Pink Pirouette and the other in Sahara Sand. I used the I Love Lace background stamp

3. Cut Vellum using Circles Collection Framelit die, I chose the one just over 9cm in diameter.

4.Either emboss the Vellum or the front of the card with Decorative Dots Embossing Folder

5. Stamp Baby Bumble Bee on a scrap of Whisper White card stock using Pink Pirouette or Soft Sky ink. Trim off wings and touch up outline, eyes and mouth using Smoky Slate marker pen, the fine end and with a very light touch.

6. Fold 6.5 x 6.5 square into baby wrap, by folding left side and right side in evenly, then fold bottom point up to the gap in the neck of the wrap, see card image.

7. Position Baby Bumble bee (minus wings) into wrap and secure with a dimensional dot behind the back of the neck.

8. Stick down front of baby wrap to secure it, I used Tombow.

9. Tie a piece of linen thread around baby wrap. Then add a button also tied with Linen thread with a sticky dot. I used a Vintage Faceted Button coloured with a blender pen for the girl and a button from the Sweet Dreams Designer buttons for the boy.

10. Cut a strip of Sweet Dreams Designer Paper, 1.5 cm x 8cm ( Black striped for the boy and Crumbcake stripe for the girl)  Flag one end to make a banner (see card photo).

11. Cut a strip of Whisper White Cardstock 1.5 x 9cm and flag one end. Then swipe all of it except the flagged end across a stamp pad either Soft Sky or Pink Pirouette to give it some rough colour.

12. Stamp the sentiment from the Little Sunshine stamp set in Black Memento or Craft ink onto a generous piece of scrap Whisper white. Then cut the Congratulations off in a strip to make a banner, flag one end, do the same for the remaining sentiment.

Now you are ready to assemble.

Add vellum to card front using Fast Fuse, this will not show through the embossed vellum, love that! This will overhang the edge of the card, leave it till last so you can trim all over hanging bits together.

Adhere the colour swiped banner to the card front check position on photo, I used fast fuse

Adhere DSP banner off set to overlap previous banner

Using Dimensionals Adhere the On your addition banner off set below the DSP banner.

Using dimensionals adhere baby in wrap, check image above for position.

Now for the Congratulations banner. Using Mini Glue Dots adhere this just near the button on the baby.

Trim off any excess and you now have a lovely card made by using Little Sunshine  Baby Bumble Bee and the matching products. Check it all out on page 39 of the Current 2015 Occasions Catalogue.

Balloon Bash photopolymer stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

Hi,

I had wonderful day on Jan 17 with around 140 other Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators at the Sydney Party Time Event.
We were entertained and inspired by wonderful presenters and it was great to catch up with old friends and meet lots of new ones. One of the benefits of being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator is the Stampin’ family that comes with it. Love it all.

I was asked along with 3 lovely and talented Demonstrators to make the samples to display for this event. We were given a brief to create samples using particular products, these are some of mine.
Hope you like ’em.

Ornamental Pine Pop-Up Card

Ornamental Pine Pop-Up Card

At my workshop on the weekend, everyone made good use of the Ornamental Pine stamp set from the seasonal catalogue.  (View it on my website www.dawnfergie.stampinup.net)

It was a heap of fun with a lovely group of girls and they all did a brilliant job on their creations.I’ll give some instructions shortly, but first take a peek at the group in action. Thanks girls for permission to post your pics.

Cardstock measurements
Ok so how did we do it?

All the products are listed below and here’s the measurements for the cardstock…

Cardstock measurements

Cut your cardstock as above, score the insert at each end and in the middle in Mountain Valley folds.

But….DO NOT FOLD THE WHISPER WHITE CARD BASE YET.

1. Ink Pine branch from Ornamental Pine with Old Olive ink except for the main stem.

2. Using the Early Espresso marker colour the stems

3. Stamp onto the middle of the Whisper White card base. (Huff a litle breath on it before you stamp to ensure it is still moist). Once dry, fold in half.

4. Line up framelit (see below for details) in the middle of the Pop Up card inner.  Makesure it is longwise down the card.

5. Stamp greeting on right side flap

6. Apply Tombow Multi purpose adhesive to each end flap and glue down on white card base making sure centre creases line up.

7. Cut length of Mossy Meadow ribbon and another slightly longer of Real Red satin ribbon (details below). Tie Real Red around Mossy Meadow and pull tight. Trim ends and adhere to left flap of card with Glue Dots (below)

8. Front. Take the whisper white front panel and stamp top corner using the same inks as inside.

9. Using the bauble from Ornamental Pine, ink with Real Red ink and stamp as in photo.

10. Use Real Red marker pen and a ruler to draw the string from the pine tree to the bauble.

11. Stamp Christmas Wishes in Basic Gray on panel as in photo.

12. Adhere white front panel to Basic Gray panel with Stampin’ Up! Dimentionals

13. Using Tombow as before, adhere Basic Gray Panel to front of card.

14. Oops forgot this step. This should have come after 7. Stamp two pine cones from Ornamental Pine using Early Espresso ink onto a scrap of Whisper white cardstock. Cut them out and position them onto the stamped pine branch inside the card. Adhere them using Dimentionals but make certain that they don’t sit across the center fold.

That’s it your pop up card is complete.

Boys will be boys Block Card

Boys will be Boys Block Card

Yesterday was World Card Making Day, but for me it was busy day though so I only managed to make one card.

Our youngest Grandson will be 5 soon and I wanted to use my Stampin’ Up!

Boys Will Be Boys stamp set and also wanted to try a Block Card for the first time.

It’s a bit rough around the edges but I like the idea of it very much and am working on others.

Boys will be Boys Block Card

Boys will be Boys Block Card

I used Blendabilities to colour the Robot and blocks from the Boys will be Boys stamp set. I I really enjoy working with the Blendies, they are great Alcohol markers.

I had some measurements for a 3 step card but wanted more blocks, so I cut out for two cards, then trimmed the highest block off the second one, but left a little extra for tabs to stick the two together.  So in the picture, the 3 blocks on the left are joined to the 2 lower middle blocks. Hope that makes sense.

A small circle punch was used for the block tops and I have six layers stuck together with Tombow Multipurpose adhesive holding them all together. In fact the entire thing was put together with Tombow. Oh and I stuck it all on a card base too, so I can write my message underneath.
The card folds flat to go into an envelope so the robot is a pop up as well as the blocks.

I had fun making the Boys will be Boys Block card. Hope you give it a try.

Message me if you have questions, and don’t forget you can shop at my online store and have your goods delivered to you door anywhere in Australia. That simple.

Flower Patch

Flower Patch

I LOVE this stamp and die set!

6a00d8341e640e53ef01a3fd190be8970b-500wi (1)

I’ve had this set for a while but have been too busy with other things to pull it out and use it for the first time.

Then, a fellow demonstrator, Di Barnes, shared a few card ideas with us and I just had to try one.

I didn’t have the same stamp set Di used so out came Flower Patch.  I love it!

Here’s the first effort.

Web Flower Patch

Using a side step card base in Wisteria Wonder Card stock I set to work.

First I created my backgrounds.

I used the rubber end of a pencil and Wild Wasabi ink Pad to create the dots.

The woodgrain behind the flower pot is our Hardwood stamp, both were stamped onto

Whisper White Cardstock

For the plower pot I measured roughly the area of the front panel and cut a triangle of Crumb Cake Cardstock then trimmed it up to make a flower pot to fit, complete with rim.

This was then sponged in Crumbcake ink to add depth.

The green strip is Wild Wasabi and the Stampin’ Up! Pearls on the ends have been coloured using the new

Blendabilities Markers. They are so versatile these markers. They can colour buttons, rhinestones, acetate window sheets and of course are beautiful to colour in images and get great depth and shading.

Now for the flowers.

I stamped 3 colours of  Stampin’ Up! cardstock in matching inks with the Flower Patch stamp set.

Then out with the Flower Fair Dies that co-ordinate with Flower patch, the Big Shot and hey presto, all cut out with no scissors. Gotta love that!

After that it was a matter of assembling it all and arranging the flowers, I used Stampin’ Dimentionals and Tombow Mulipurpose Adhesive.

Oh I almost forgot…

That cute little Celebration sentiment?  That was stamped from a stamp set called

GOOD GREETINGS and punched with the word window punch.

Good Greetings - Free with $300 order until Oct 31 2014

Good Greetings – Free with $300 order until
Oct 31 2014

GOOD GREETINGS COULD BE YOURS FREE until Oct 31 2014

Qualifying orders of $300 (product price) will earn this stamp set valued at $30 FREE………as well as $50 in hostess dollars to purchase anything you like from Stampin’ Up! on top of your order.

If you’d like help to make one of these cards, have any questions or would like to order some supplies you can contact me easily. (details top right corner of my web page www.dawnfergie.stampinup.net)

Traveler Stamp Set

TRAVELER STAMP SET

Hi, just thought I’d share the card I made for my husband this Fathers Day using, among other stamps etc, the Traveler Stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

I do love this set!

This is an easy card to make even though I’ve used a number of different stamps and tools and I got to play with several recent additions to the Stampin’ Up! range.

The white background dots are White Stayz On in, daubed on with the rubber end of a pencil.

The embossed Very Vanilla card was coloured by gently dragging the Night of Navy stamp pad over the embossed surface for a random look.

Using the Tag Topper Punch is a breeze. Cut your strip of card 5.1cm wide and any length you like. I sponged the edges of my tag first with Cherry Cobbler ink then with Night of Navy. It is stamped with the ship from the Traveler stamp set.

The wavy lines are from our new Photopolymer range and they are great to use. This is one from the Botique Borders set.

Washi Tape can be any colour you want it to be with our Tape It stamp set. I chose Wild Wasabi to stamp mine.

FOR YOU stamp is from the Everyday Occasions Card Kit. (This is a complete kit and includes pre-cut card stock, envelopes, embellishments, stamps and mini stamp pads.  All you need is tape….but I liked it on this card too)

Put it together, tie a bit of twine and you are done.  I used our Tombow Adhesive and Stampin’ Dimentionals.

If you have any questions or would like a catalogue please fill in the contact form and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

………….and you can shop online at http://www.dawnfergie.stampinup.net

Kind Koala

This card was just for a bit of fun.

With the new Seasonal Catalogue about to go live on August 28 but the product not yet in our hands, our team had a challenge set.

We were to create an Un-Christmas Card. A Christmas card that didn’t use anything designed for Christmas.

Here’s my spin on it using the Kind Koala stamp from the current catalogue. I know it’s early but Happy Aussie Christmas Mate!

Kind Koala reduced file

The colour is not showing very well in this shot so here’s what I used including the stamps:

The red ribbon and the stars are from the upcoming Seasonal Catalogue, if you ‘d like to obtain one leave your details please and I’ll get back to you.

Mail Train – Traveler Stamp Set by Stampin’ Up!

Hello again,

The new Stampin’ Up! catalogue goes live in Australia on July 1.  Lots of old favourites will no longer be available and lots of new ones to love will soon be ours.

I have been playing with a set I purchased from the new catalogue (Demonstrators can purchase early). This set is called Traveler and I love it. Once it is available to the public I think it will prove very popular.

I love it because I love vintage style among other things.

Anyway, here’s a card I made keeping it very Sepia toned by using all Stampin’ Up! product.

Mail Train - Using Traveler Stamp set from Stampin' Up! available to order from July 1 in Australia

Mail Train – Using Traveler Stamp set from Stampin’ Up! available to order from July 1 in Australia

Stampin’ Up! Product used:

1. Circle Card Thinlit die (this die, along with the Big Shot cutting and Embossing machine cut the card base complete with the circle cut out)

2. Cardstock used was: Early Espresso &Very Vanilla

3. Inks used were Early Espresso and Baked Brown Sugar

4. Stamps used were: Traveler, World Map, Teeny Tiny Sentiments and Postage Due.

5. Punches used: Two and a half inch circle punch for circle with train stamped on it. Word Window punch and Modern label punch for sentiment (Both modified cuts to make them smaller)

6. Thick Bakers Twine in Baked Brown Sugar (not available to order until July 1 when new catalogue is live).

This is a fairly simple card to make. I feel like I’ve delved into Great Grannys box of photos and postcards every time I look at it.

If you’d like to obtain a copy of the new Catalogue please message me here or on my website www.dawnfergie.stampinup.net   Ordering can be done online (in Australia) just look for the shop now button or go directly to my website www.dawnfergie.stampinup.net

Tri Fold Shutter Card for 16 year old

Hello again,

Like I said in my last post, it’s birthday mayhem in our family.

One of our Grandsons turned 16, so is headed off to get his Learners Permit and driving lessons. He has also just purchased his first car with hard-earned money from after school work.

Getting into the spirit of it I had an idea for a Tri-Fold Shutter card for him which incorporated  Learners Plates.  He loved it!

Happy 16th Tri-fold Shutter card

Happy 16th Tri-fold Shutter card

Happy 16th b.

It is crazy in our family with a run of 11  birthdays over 10 weeks.

One of our lovely Grandaughters turned 18 on the weekend and had a good old Country Style party.

I figured I’d better make a card to fit the occasion.

Mims card

Bootiful Occasions and Sassy Salutations – Stampin’ Up!

I used all Stampin’ Up! products.

1.Circle Card Thinlit Die to make the card base

2. Card base – Rich Razzleberry and also Crumb Cake and Silver Glimmer Paper

3. Bootiful Occasions stamp set

4. Sassy Salutations Stamp set

5. Circles Collection Framelit die

Cutting it out was so easy with the Thinlits and Framelits and it went together easily.

Our girl loves boots and purple, so Bootiful Occasions and the Rich Razzleberry were perfect.

You can check out the products in the catalogue (link on the side bar)

Shopping online is easy too.

Big Shot Magnetic platform

At long last this fantastic tool is in stock again.

I love my Magnetic Platform and use it all the time. It is the perfect solution for keeping the framelits in place while cutting.  I have to keep my Magnetic Platform 12″ from my chest because I have a Pacemaker, but if I follow that simple rule I can use it without a problem, which makes me a very happy Stamper!

You will find it on page 184 of the 2013/2014 catalogue item number 130658 $69.95.

Which reminds me…

If you don’t have a copy of the current catalogues, please let me know and I’ll arrange to get one to you.

Well better go feed the lions. Catch you later,

Pop ‘n Cuts

Dress UpHi,  I thought I’d post a couple of images of the card I was playing with today.

I recently purchased the Stampin’ Up! Pop ‘n Cuts Base, Dress Form Pop ‘n Cuts and the Dress Up Framelits.  Today is the first time I’ve had time to play. I’m not entirely happy with the card front, but managed to incorporate the new Ruffle Trim Ribbon and Simply Pressed Clay flower. The Embossing folder is one that will be available on August 29 when the seasonal catalogue comes out. I’ve also used the background stamp En Francais. The colours are Calypso Coral, Early Espresso and Crisp Cantaloupe.

Here is the inside.Pop'n Cuts

Pop’n Cuts

I played for a while, but finally came up with this.  The background wallpaper is Stampin’ Up! Vellum embossed with the Stripes embossing folder.

The decorative paper is the new In Colour stack from Stampin’ Up! in Crisp Cantaloupe.

I made the hand bag using the base of the Cupcake Builder punch, the Mosaic punch and the 1″ circle punch.

The  flowers are made with the Itty Bitty Shapes punches and the Large Oval punch to make the stems.

There is lots of room for improvements but it was fun.  I can see I will be using this more and more now that I’ve had a go at it.  I also have the Label Pop ‘n Cuts and my mind is buzzing with ideas there.

Christmas in July

Recently I held my annual Christmas in July workshop. Now you may have noticed there’s not a lot of Christmas in the catalogue……but there soon will be when the new seasonal catalogue comes out in September. In the meantime, I thought I’d try supporting Ronald Mc Donald House and use the Tag It stamp set on page 45 of the catalogue to make a simple card. The really cool thing about this one is that Stampin’ Up! give $3 to Ronald Mc Donald House Charities for every set sold.  Great incentive to give it a try!  It teams beautifully with the Chalk Talk Framelit dies on page 187.  So here it is.

Ronald Mc Donald Charities fund raiser $3 from the purchase of each Tag It stamp set from Stampin' Up! goes to this charity.

A change of style for our second card for Christmas in July saw me reach for the Mosaic Madness set (Page 123) and coordinating punch  “Mosaic” (page 180) and embossing folder “Modern Mosaic” (page 191). The colours are Very Vanilla, Baked Brown Sugar and Early Espresso, with Gold heat embossing. I LOVE the new Ruffle Trim Ribbon on page 173, it comes in all the new In Colours, totally yummy!

Yep, I’m late updating my page again!  However,  my husband has now begun treatment for his cancer so we are making some progress at last and I can focus on Stampin’ Up! again.

Here’s a simple card I designed for a training day with our team recently, we had a heap of fun and came home with lots of new ideas, love our team!

Label Love Card

Label Love Card

It really was a simple card to introduce using the Label Love stamp set and matching Artisan Label punch.
To make this card I used the following products from the new Stampin’ Up! catalogue:
Artisan Label punch (page 181), Modern Label punch (page 181) Label Love stamp set (page 33), Modern Mosaic Embossing folder (Page 191), Perfect Polka Dots Embossing folder (Page 191), Big Shot (page 184), Gingham Garden Washi Tape (page 171) and the card stock was Whisper White (page145 ) and one of the new In Colours,  Costal Cabana (page 141). I love the Washi tape, and it has a beautiful co-ordinating range.
